About me
Jim is the Co-founder and Strategist of Mirim Enterprises, a company he and his wife formed in 2014. They offer consulting services in the agriculture, conservation, engineering, and energy sectors that promote the wise use of our natural resources while providing food, fiber, energy and manufacturing in sustainable ways. Jim also volunteers as the Policy Director for the North American Grouse Partnership and is a Professional Member of The Boone and Crockett Club.
Jim is a native of the Finger Lakes region of NY where he grew up on a family dairy farm and developed his interest in agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing, and natural resources. In February last year, he retired after a 23-year career with Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever. For the last 12 of those years, he served as the Director of Government Affairs where he worked on agriculture and conservation policy at the federal and state levels. He completed his B.S. degree in forestry and wildlife at The College of Environmental Science and Forestry, at Syracuse University, and obtained his MS degree in wildlife and forestry from Mississippi State University (MSU). In the Fall of 2023 Jim was honored as an Alumni Fellow of the College of Forest Resources at MSU.
When not on the job you will find Jim assisting local farmers and landowners implementing conservation practices or promoting hunting and conservation at the state and national levels. You will also find him hunting, fishing or dog training with his family and friends. Jim resides in Upper Sandusky Ohio with his wife, Miranda and two sons Nash and Kade, along with a brace of bird dogs.
