About me
I have a love for water, wilderness, conservation, and technology. I was afforded the opportunity to meld these interests together and led the building of the powerful automated cloud mapping technologies genesismaps.com and biobasemaps.com in the 2010's. You can’t protect what you don’t measure, and with BioBase, I’ve focused on making the measuring part the easiest part of the equation for aquatic resource professionals. Now with BioBase LLC, I lead a small team that manages all aspects of the Software-as-a-Service subscription business within an Agile Scrum, Product-led Growth framework. In my past life, I was (am!) a classically trained Aquatic Ecologist and Fisheries Biologist with over 10 years of experience in research and program coordination with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. I was the primary author on 11 peer-reviewed publications, delivered numerous presentations at professional conferences, and launched a collaborative long-term sentinel lakes monitoring program. At the core, I still identify myself as a fisheries biologist. Equally important to my work life, I balance time with family, time outdoors (especially fishing) and a dedication to service in my community. I'm an advocate for Gallup's Strengths Finder and Context-Analytical-Communication-Maximizer-Harmony are my top five strengths.
